Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)

Dr. Clarence Owen and Dr. Michael Cooper launched our TAVR program in March, 2014, following months of training and preparation. TAVR is an appropriate surgical option for patients with severe symptomatic aortic valve stenosis who have been determined to be inoperable or high risk for conventional open-heart surgery to replace their diseased aortic heart valve.  This is a less invasive procedure that allows a new valve to be inserted within a patient’s diseased aortic valve while the heart is beating. Patients are evaluated by our skilled heart team, which includes our surgeons and experienced cardiologists.  In addition, our dedicated nurse navigator is integral to guiding our patients throughout their care continuum.
